The unified project of the Ministry of the Interior includes functional changes to the information systems, which concern ensuring the integrity of each unified project system in the transition period from lats to euro and further operation of the system with the euro currency, as well as additional actions to further ensure interoperability of other systems, as well as the availability of electronic services provided by the systems.
Project aim: to ensure the possibility to convert data processing processes and databases created in information systems from lats to euro, while preserving the functionality of the system. The project envisages reviewing data structures, data processing algorithms, user interfaces, inter-system integration interfaces and functionality of electronic services, adapting them to the requirements of the regulatory enactments related to the introduction of the euro, including changeover from lats to euro.
In order to ensure the adaptation of the information systems of the Ministry of the Interior to the introduction of the euro, the following information systems will be adapted:
- integrated home affairs information system;
- Punishment Register;
- criminal procedure information system;
- Residence Permit Register Subsystem of the Unified Migration Information System;
- Invitation Register Subsystem of the Unified Migration Information System;
- National Visa Information System;
- Identity document information system;
- Administrative and Criminal Information System of the State Procurement Agency.
In addition to the above-mentioned information systems, it is necessary to make adjustments with the introduction of the euro also for the e-service EP38 “Verification and payment of administrative penalties”, database management software; MobApp software and data storage solution.
Project target groups: Institutions subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior: Information Centre of the Ministry of the Interior, Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs and State Procurement Agency . These authorities are responsible for maintaining the information systems.
Project budget: 129 135 lats, of which the European Regional Development Fund co-financing for the implementation of the Project is 100%, while the State budget financing is 0%.
Project implementation period: from 11 June to 31 December 2013.
