On 15 April 2020, the Information Centre of the Ministry of the Interior launched the project No. 2.2.1.1/19/I/010 “New Generation Integrated Home Affairs Information System” (hereinafter - the project) within the framework of the European Regional Development Fund Operational Programme “Growth and Employment” specific support objective 2.2.1 “Ensure increased re-use of public data and effective interaction between public administration and the private sector” activity 2.2.1.1 “Establishment of centralized public administration ICT platforms, optimization and development of public administration processes”. The project is implemented in cooperation with the State Police, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Latvia and the Court Administration.
The aim of the project is to create a unified and efficient electronic management system for inspections and pre-trial investigation processes, providing a basis for the development of an e-case, reducing investigation timeframes and costs, as well as ensuring the availability of the data to the public.
The total cost of the project is 3,800,000 EUR, incl. European Regional Development Fund funding in the amount of 3,230,000 EUR and state budget financing in the amount of 570,000 EUR.
The implementation of the project is planned for 36 months, starting from 15 April, 2020.
