The Information Centre of the Ministry of the Interior in co-operation with the State Border Guard implements the project “Study of the Existing Functionality of the Border Control and Surveillance Processes and the Required Improvements” (hereinafter - the Project) in the framework of the National Security Fund National Programme 2014 - 2020.
Project goal: carry out research of business processes and development of technical solution requirements for future modernization of REIS and its technical platform, as well as purchase the necessary terminal equipment, based on project results, and supplement it with a unified national interface with the European Central Entry / Exit System (EES), ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Schengen Borders Code 2016/399 and EP Regulation 2017/2226.
Project implementation period: 01.01.2019. – 21.02.2020.
Funding: EUR 35 157 (of which financed from the Fund: 26 368 EUR, state budget: EUR 8 789).

- Preparation of a detailed description and requirements of the REIS technical solution.

Results to be achieved in the project:
- business process requirements have been defined and summarized, taking into account the planned implementation of ENTRY / EXIT systems, ETIAS and the creation of a centralized API point;
- calculation has been prepared for the development and implementation of the REIS system;
- market research has been performed on the terminal equipment necessary for the full operation of the system (document readers, fingerprint scanners, etc.);
- infrastructure hosting premises have been inspected and proposals for their improvement have been provided.
